Wilbur Carew

Wilbur Carew, 85, of Shelbyville, passed away, Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at MHP Medical Center.

 

He was born Aug. 3, 1932, to Russell Carew and Leona (Hinkle) Carew. He married Vickie Pettit on June 18, 1981, and she preceded him in death on March 17, 1993.

 

Survivors include his stepson, Troy Mays; stepdaughters, Teresa (Bobby) Haus and Laura Mays; 12 stepgrandchildren; brother, Gerald Carew; sister, Lorinda Carew; and caregiver, Delmar Walton, all of Shelbyville.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, two stepchildren and three brothers.

 

Wilbur was employed in the wood shop at Indiana Cash Drawer.

 

He was a member of Bible Mission Church and the Eagles.

 

He loved to watch IU Basketball and enjoyed getting out and driving through the country.

 

The family gives a special thank you to Major Hospital Home Health Care.

 

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Bible Mission Church, 1011 S. Miller St., Shelbyville, with David Gooding officiating.

 

Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

 

Funeral Directors Greg, Sheila and Stuart Parks are honored to serve the Carew family.

 

Memorial contributions may be given to Bible Mission Church.
