Richard Connor

Richard Connor, 90, of Carmel, former Shelbyville resident, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018, at The Barrington of Carmel.

Born in Shelbyville on Nov. 28, 1927, he was the son of Herbert Connor and Margaret (Heppner) Connor. He married Viola (Abel) Connor on Aug. 19, 1950, and she survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Linda Wentworth (husband, Jeff), of Vienna, Illinois; son, Danny Connor (wife, Candace), of Carmel; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Connor had lived in Carmel for three years, after moving from Shelbyville.

He was a self-employed registered watchmaker/jeweler with Connor Jewelry since the late 1940s. He retired in November 2015.

He graduated from Shelbyville High School and was a member of the Watchmakers Association of Indiana.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, with Robert Haehl officiating.

No visiting hours will be observed.
