Serious injuries result of Sunday accident

Two Indiana residents and two children were involved in an accident on State Road 9 on Sunday afternoon.

A 2003 maroon Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 17-year-old woman from Indianapolis, and a 2013 black Honda CRV, driven by a 32-year-old woman from Fort Wayne, who was with her two children, ages 12 and 2, were in the accident.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene at 5:05 p.m.

The Chevrolet crossed over the center line, according to the sheriff’s department, causing the collision with the Honda.

Both drivers were taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis by Stat Flight and had serious injuries. Both children were taken to MHP Medical Center with minor injuries.

The identities of the drivers were not provided by the sheriff’s department.

The Shelby County FACT team, Morristown Police Department, Fountaintown Volunteer Fire Department, Morristown Volunteer Fire Department and Sugar Creek Fire Department all responded to the scene.
