Virginia R. Jackson

Virginia R. Jackson, 93, of Waldron, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Waldron Health & Rehab.

She was born, in Shelbyville, on March 17, 1925, to Frank and Athena O. (Stephens) Taggart. She married Wayne A. Jackson Sr. in 1945, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 2001.

Survivors include daughter, Judy Roell (husband, Robert), of Shelbyville; son, Wayne A. Jackson, Jr.

(wife, Diane), of Shelbyville; grandchildren Patty Pike (husband, Scott), Linda S. Tugan (husband, Jeff), Vicki Woosley, Lorrie Peace (husband, Gary), Aaron Jackson (wife, Jen) and Matthew Jackson; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, two brothers, three sisters and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jackson was a lifelong resident of this area and graduated from Shelbyville High School.

She was a homemaker.

Virginia loved playing bingo, playing cards, watching John Wayne movies, the outdoors and reading

Beverly Lewis books.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.
