Waldron Health and Rehab collecting school supplies

By ROSS FLINT - rflint@shelbynews.com

A conversation with a local school teacher led to a supply drive that started Monday and will continue for the next 10 days.

Waldron Health and Rehab Center is hosting a school supplies drive through July 20 for Waldron Elementary School students.

Sarah Jones, director of business development, said she met with Deb Dalley, a teacher at the elementary, who expressed a need for supplies for the upcoming school year. Dalley told her the school has a closet of supplies that students can use, but the school was in need of help attaining more.

“It’s a good way to give back to the community,” Jones said.

Donation boxes are set up at the front entrance of the facility, located at 505 N. Main St. in Waldron.

Every donation earns a chance to win a raffle prize, which Jones said will be gift cards to local businesses. The winners will be chosen in a random drawing, and will be selected at the end of the drive.

The supplies collected will go specifically to Waldron Elementary for the 2018-19 school year.

For more information, call Jones at 317-512-7341.

“We’re looking forward to giving back to the community,” she said.
