Curtis Schildknecht


Curtis W. Schildknecht, 48, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, at his residence.

Born August 25, 1969, in Seymour, Ind., he was the son of Charles and Judy (Wyne) Schildknecht. He married Amanda (Harper) Schildknecht on Sept. 2, 1999, and she survives.

Other survivors include his mother, Judy Schildknecht of North Vernon; 3 children, Darian Patterson (husband Clifton) of North Vernon, Jordan "Nik" Schildknecht of Shelbyville, and Mackenzie Schildknecht of Shelbyville; 2 brothers, Charles Schildknecht Jr. (wife Jodie) of Thailand, and Chris Schildknecht (wife Darla) of Oldenburg; and one grandson, Colten Patterson.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles Schildknecht.

Mr. Schildknecht had lived in this area for 25 years, after moving from North Vernon.  He graduated from Jennings County High School in 1987, and was a factory worker at ENBI Indiana Inc. for 14 years. Curtis enjoyed fishing, music, reading, sports, and playing online poker.

A Celebration of Life will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Caleb Reynolds officiating.  Visitation will be on Friday evening, Aug. 10, 2018, from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions can be made to Curtis W. Schildknecht Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
