William Mann


William Alvin "Bill" Mann, 82, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at his residence in Franklin, Indiana.

He was born on March 3, 1936, in Shelby County, Ind., to James William and Emma Louise (Gill) Mann. He married Dona Joyce Mann. She preceded him in passing.

Survivors include his son, Gary Mann (Becky); Peggy Mann; and Julie Allen (Jeff); brothers, Paul Mann (Kay); Larry Mann (Pam); sister-in-law, Saralee Mann; 6 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; wife, Dona; grandson, Jason Mann; sister, Nellie Trobaugh (Don); and brother, Robert "Bob" Mann.

Bill was a graduate of Franklin Community High School. He was employed by Cummins Engine in Columbus for 42 years. Bill was a lifelong farmer. Bill was a member of the Second Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and also a member of the Johnson County Shrine Club, Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 107, F&AM; and the Johnson County Antique Machinery Association.

He was an avid fan of IU basketball. He very much enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rev. Charles McDaniel will conduct a service on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at 7 p.m. at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin, IN 46131.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Second Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.
