BRCF scholarship applications now available online

STAFF REPORT

Applications for the 2019 Blue River Community Foundation general scholarship opportunities are now available through the foundation’s website and are due by Jan. 15, 2019.

The applications can be found at www.blueriverfoundation.com.

Eligible applicants include current high school seniors who will be graduating and plan to pursue vocational or undergraduate studies, current college students, graduate students and adults who are either pursuing or completing their college degree.

More information, including the criteria and requirements for the scholarship opportunities, instructions for applying and a list of the scholarships available are listed on the foundation’s scholarship resource guide for students on the website under the “Apply for Scholarships” tab.

Hard copies are also available at all five high schools in Shelby County and in the foundation’s office, located at 54 W. Broadway St., Suite 1, in Shelbyville.

More than 80 scholarship funds are administered by the foundation. The funds are made possible through donors “who recognize the tremendous need for assistance in meeting the costs of higher education,” according to a press release.

Last Spring, 123 students received more than $437,103 in funds to help continue reaching their goals.
