The No. 3 Morristown boys’ basketball team beat Mid-Hoosier Conference foe Hauser on the road Friday, 59-43.

Morristown senior guard Logan Laster had a game-high 29 points. He scored 21 of his team’s 24 points in the second half in the win. Sophomore guard Kyle Crim added 15 points.

The 3-0 Yellow Jackets led 35-24 at halftime.

SHS girls win at home

The Shelbyville girls’ basketball team beat Franklin County at home Friday, 57-46. SHS led 27-18 at halftime en route to the win.

The Golden Bears are now 2-4.

SHS hosted Batesville Saturday and has a contest with New Palestine at home Tuesday.

SW boys earn road victory

The Southwestern boys’ basketball team moved to 1-1 with a 45-39 win at Eastern Hancock on Friday.

Spartans’ sophomore guard Anick Hartsell had a team-high 21 points and four assists. Senior forward Blake McClure had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

SW led 15-8 at the break in a low-scoring first half.
