Daniel G. Ramsey, 80, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 2, 1939, the son of Glen and Audrey (Booher) Ramsey, and stepson of Vivian. Dan married Violet Linville on April 18, 1965.

He is survived by his wife, Violet; his sons, Daniel G. Ramsey, Jr. and wife, Neva, of Manilla, Kenneth E. Ramsey of Shelbyville, and Dennis L. Ramsey and husband, Paul, of Solsberry; sister, Sue Jane Colquitt and husband, Lee, of Michigan; stepbrother, Eric Pierson and wife, Gayle, of Greenfield; stepsister, Margo Repar and husband, Jim, of Greenfield; and grandchildren, Morgan and Gregory Ramsey of Manilla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother and brother, David.

Dan attended Shelbyville High School and was a member of the Class of 1957. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Dan was a self-employed farmer, and then was employed with Johnson Trucking for 24 years.

In retirement, Dan and family owned a multitude of antique tractors and implements. He was a long-standing member of the Pioneer Engineers Club of Indiana and was always sure to attend the annual show held in Rush County. He loved to tell people about his Model T tractor and the family history behind the tractors, but Dan especially loved driving his Model A truck through the streets of Shelbyville on a nice, sunny day. He also enjoyed his coffee meetings with his two friends, Bruce and Larry.
