By ROSS FLINT - rflint@shelbynews.com

Two St. Paul residents died as a result of a two-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday morning.

Steven A. Conard, 58, and Steven A. Conard Jr., 39, were involved in an accident with a 2003 Dodge truck, driven by Lance Davidson Jr., 26, of Shelbyville. The senior Conard was driving a 2007 Jeep with his son as a passenger.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of the accident around 5:15 a.m. in the 4000 block of State Road 9 N. Investigators believe the collision was head on.

Davidson was taken to the hospital and Major Chris Holder of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department said the accident remains under investigation.

In an unrelated accident, a teenager was injured and taken to the hospital on Tuesday.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene at 4:48 p.m. Tuesday in the 5600 block of N. London Road, after the 14-year old male, who was getting mail from his mailbox, was struck by a car driven by a 66-year old female.

The teenager was taken to Riley Hospital in Indianapolis. The driver was uninjured. That accident is also still under investigation.
