Boys hoops teams hit hardwood on busy Friday

The Morristown boys’ basketball team beat Eastern Hancock 77-61 on the road Friday.

Sophomore guard Kyle Crim led the team with 27 points. Senior Logan Laster added 19 points and junior Trevon Carlton and senior Logan Theobald added 12 and 10 points, respectively, in an unselfish effort for MT. Junior Matty Livezey nearly reached double figures with eight points.

The No. 8 Yellow Jackets are now 17-3 overall. The team’s next contest is Feb. 16 at Shelbyville.

WHS loses on road

The Waldron boys’ basketball team fell to South Decatur on the road Friday, 58-45.

JT Johns led WHS with nine points. 

The Mohawks are now 1-18 overall and 0-6 in the Mid-Hoosier Conference.

SHS boys drop HHC game

The Shelbyville boys’ basketball team fell to New Palestine 66-64 at home Friday in Hoosier Heritage Conference action.

The Golden Bears trailed 37-26 at halftime, still trailed by double digits in the third quarter but rallied on a trio of 3s from Ben Kramer to cut into the lead. 

Shelbyville took a lead midway through the fourth quarter but couldn’t hold on for the conference win. Zach Kuhn led all scorers with 31 points.

SHS is now 9-9 overall and 3-3 in the HHC.

TC boys fall at home

The Triton Central boys’ basketball team fell to Indiana Crossroads Conference foe Ritter at home Friday, 90-75.

Senior guard Wyatt Felling led TC with 28 points. Senior Luke Sanders added 19 points and sophomore David Steele had 10.

The Tigers are now 8-11 overall and 1-3 in the ICC.
