Golden Bears drop contest to South Dearborn

STAFF REPORT

The Shelbyville softball team fell on the road at South Dearborn Wednesday, 11-1. 

Karissa Hamilton led the Golden Bears with two hits, scored the team’s one run and stole two bases. Jo’el Gilbert and Addisenn Weaver added a base hit. Weaver also finished with one RBI and one sacrifice fly.

Weaver is hitting an impressive .765 at the plate this season (13 of 17). She has nine RBIs, five doubles and one home run. Hamilton is second on the team with a .444 batting average and leads SHS with two home runs.  

Shelbyville plays against today at home against conference foe Delta. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. 

SHS golf defeated by Franklin

The Shelbyville golf team fell to Franklin on Wednesday, 160-204. 

Matt Bunton led SHS with a round of 47. Garet Skaggs shot a 50, Nolan Chaney a 53, Ethan Apsley a 54 and Alex Grove a 71. 

New cheer coach

Kim Clark is the new cheer coach at Shelbyville. 

Tryouts for cheer will be April 16-18 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the SHS Auxiliary Gym. Please pick up a packet in the Athletic Office.
