Flippen leads Waldron to county win over Morristown

Waldron's Bryce Flippen hit two singles and finished with four RBIs in the Mohawks' win over Morristown on Wednesday.

The Waldron baseball team earned a county win on Wednesday against Morristown. The Mohawks beat the Yellow Jackets 13-3 in five innings.

Bryce Flippen pitched a complete game for his first win of the season. Flippen helped his cause and added two singles and four RBIs at the plate.

Also for WHS, Lance Hensley was 2-for-2 with two runs scored. JT Johns added a two-run double, while Cody Beal scored four runs.

WHS softball tops Morristown

The Waldron softball team beat Morristown on Wednesday, 10-8. The Mohawks had just three runs until a late charge in the sixth and seventh innings (seven combined runs) helped the team seal the win.

Molly Benson (2), Maddie Robinson (2) , Madalyn Hudnall (2), Lexi Rader (1), Airianna Collins (1) and Morgan Hungerford (1) all had at least one hit for WHS. Benson led the team with two RBIs.

TC falls to Speedway

The Triton Central baseball team fell to Speedway on Wednesday, 16-0.

The Tigers were limited to three hits in the loss. Colton Brown knocked a double.

The TC softball team was also defeated by Speedway Wednesday, 12-1.

Jaime Pyle and Taylor Heath each had two hits for the Tigers.

SHS finishes in third

The Shelbyville golf team was defeated by Columbus North and New Palestine on Wednesday. CN finished with a 162. New Pal shot a 174 and Shelbyville finished with a 196.

Drew Smith (CN) was medalist with a 38.

Matt Bunton led SHS with a round of 43. Ethan Apsley shot a 49, Garet Skaggs a 51 and Nolen Chaney a 53.

TC pars past Beech Grove

The Triton Central golf team beat Beech Grove 154-162 Wednesday.

Beech Grove's Jaden Edwards was medalist with a 35.

For TC, Drew Rowen and Jordan Brandman both carded a 36. Luke Sanders shot a 40 and Blake Anderson a 42.
