Max Brandt


Max A. Brandt, 70, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at his residence.

Born Aug. 28, 1948, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Morris H. Brandt and Evelyn S. (Sutherlin) Brandt. He married Jane Ann (Hoban) Brandt on Aug. 9, 1970, and she passed away on Oct. 3, 2009.

Survivors include a daughter, Amanda Smiley (husband, Rick) of Indianapolis; son, A. Jason Brandt (wife, Natasha) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Kenny Brandt (wife, Linda) of Shelbyville; friend, Theresa Blackman of Elizabeth, Ind.; five grandchildren, Molly Smiley, Kaitlyn Smiley, Emma Smiley, Olivia Brandt, and Noah Brandt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouse, and two brothers, Dennis Brandt and Michael Brandt.

Mr. Brandt had lived in this area his entire lifetime, and graduated from Waldron High School in 1966. He worked in sales with Hillman Fasteners of Cincinnati for several years and was also a self-employed computer technician for Shelby Eastern Schools for several years.

Max loved photography and traveling.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2019, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating. Friends may call on Thursday evening, May 16, 2019, from 4 8 p.m.

Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.
