Marjorie Mohney


Marjorie L. (Lowen) Mohney, 90, of Shelbyville, passed away on May 14, 2019. She was born April 13, 1929, in Deerfield, Kansas, to Andrew and Irene Lowen.

Marjorie married John W. Mohney on May 4, 1947, and they would have celebrated their 72nd anniversary but John preceded her in death on April 1, 2019. They also had one son, Daniel, who passed one week prior to John’s passing.

Marjorie is survived by a loving family. Her daughters, Connie (John) Phares, Kathy (William) Potter, and daughter-in-law, Chris Mohney; grandchildren, Michelle (Gary) Nolley, Toby Conlon, Travis (Jennifer) Conlon, Michael (Mandi) Eaton, Benjamin (Michele) Mohney, Tasha (Neal) Danner Hevel, Tim (Amy) Mohney, Stacy Carlyle, Jennifer (Justin) Klopotek and Joseph Mohney; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as a brother and two sisters who will miss her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son, parents, and four brothers.

She was employed at Shelby County Schools, Admiral and the State of Indiana BMV.

Marjorie loved watching her family grow, camping, fishing, and sitting in the sun.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelbyville Shelby County Animal Shelter, 705 Hale Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date in conjunction with her late husband, John.
