Jessie Harden


Jessie Todd (Pappy) Harden, born Jan. 27, 1927, in Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, May 16, 2019, surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Maredia Brown-Harden of Fairland, Ind.; daughters, Marcia Hardin of Chesterton, Ind., and Barbara Enderlin of Indianapolis, Ind.; sons, Jesse Hardin (Jessica) of Indianapolis Ind., and Gregory (Connie) Hardin of Fairland, Ind.; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Hardin; great-granddaughter, Savanah, and great-grandsons. Conner and Carson; his parents; seven brothers and three sisters.

He is an Army veteran of World War II, was a heavy equipment operator/construction worker for over 60 years and a member of Local 103 Operators Union.

He loved working, fishing and telling stories of his life’s adventures.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at the Faith Baptist Church, 323 S. Washington Street, Morristown, Ind., from 2 to 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the church in memory of Todd (Pappy) Hardin.
