The Indiana Football Coaches Association North-South All-Star game is set for Friday at North Central High School in Indianapolis. The 53rd annual All-Star event, featuring players from across the state, will begin at 7:15 p.m.

Triton Central’s Aaron Steele, who is headed for Marian University this coming fall, will represent Shelby County on the South Team. The 6-0, 180-pound Steele, who played multiple positions in high school, will be a defensive back Friday.

This past season, Steele was named The Shelbyville News’ Football Defensive Player of the Year. He was named First Team All-State by the IFCA four times during his career, made the All-ICC team four times in a row and was a two-time AP All-State player. In addition to those accolades, Steele holds numerous school records at TC and was named Indiana Preps Defensive Back of the Year (2018).

As a senior for the Tigers, who finished with a 10-2 record, Steele finished with 1,030 passing yards and seven touchdowns in eight games before suffering a knee injury. Those statistics were good enough for the super-athletic Steele to be named Top 50 by the IFCA at the end of the season. He also finished with 227 rushing yards and seven scores.

Steele, who has a younger brother, David, in high school still, is the son of Steve and Melissa Steele.

On Friday for the game, tickets are $10 at the gate for adults. Student tickets are $5 at the gate.

North Central’s Kevin O’Shea is the head coach of the South Team. Jason Garrett of Bishop Dwenger will lead the North Team.
