Tennis begins soon in Shelby County. Below are season previews for the Shelbyville, Triton Central and Morristown boys' tennis teams: 

-Shelbyville Golden Bears

Head Coach: Ashley Comstock.

Top returnees: Luke Asher, Layton Stieneker, Matthew Bunton, Austin Perry, Alex Knarr, Austin Dwenger.

Key losses: Connor Phelps.

Top newcomers: Joel Justice, Aiden Asher. Justice transferred from Waldron last year and Asher is a freshman. There are 19 boys on the team this year.

What SHS is focusing on now: At doubles, SHS is working on communication and teamwork. At singles, the Golden Bears are still in the process of challenge matches but are focusing on perfecting the fundamentals.

Season outlook/goals: "We want to make sure we are getting better and improving each match. We want to win the sectional." - Ashley Comstock

-Triton Central Tigers

Head Coach: Austin Hall.

Top returnees: Caleb Anderson, Blake Anderson, Ryan Shipley.

Key losses: Luke Sanders, Jordan Brandman.

Top newcomers: Griffin Sego, Avram Rund, Oliver Gearlds. All are freshmen and have the potential to fill varsity spots.

What TC is focusing on now: Developing skills and challenge matches.

Season outlook/goals: "Getting all the new kids comfortable with tennis, we will have 20-22 players. We want to have a better conference record this year and compete better at the conference tournament. We want to peak to play our best at county and the sectional." - Austin Hall

-Morristown Yellow Jackets

Head Coach: Steve Gosnell.

Top returnees: Noah Klinger, Jacob Wood, Jerry Riley.

Key losses: Logan Theobald, Bryce Kirstein.

Top newcomers: Nick Owens, Grant Kessler, Shane Riley, Tyler Schonfeld.

What MT is focusing on now: With fresh faces in the program, Morristown is working on setting a varsity lineup.

Season outlook/goals: "We are just trying to get better each day with the goal of playing our best by the end of the season." - Steve Gosnell
