Samantha Trueblood

Samantha Lynn (Zell) Trueblood of Franklin, Indiana, passed away Monday, Aug. 12, 2019.

She was born Dec. 17, 1970, in Shelbyville, Ind., to Thomas William Zell and Sherry Lee (Zanger) Burton. Samantha was married to John Trueblood on Aug. 31, 2001. He survives.

Other survivors include son, Jacob Trueblood; daughter, Taylor Trueblood; father and stepmother, Thomas and Sarah Zell of Morristown, Ind.; mother and stepfather, Sherry and Larry Burton of Shelbyville, Ind.; brother, Bryan Zell (Julie) of Greenfield Ind.; sister, Wendy Rich (Tony) of Shelbyville, Ind.; father and mother-in-law, Larry and Mary Jane Trueblood of Franklin, Ind.; sister-in-law, Amy Cunningham (Jeff) of Louisville, Ky.; as well as nephews, Cameron Rich, Camden Cunningham, and Samuel Cunningham; and nieces, Hannah Cunningham, Alexis Zell, Danielle Zell, Carley Zell, Maggie Cunningham and great niece, Braelynn Rich.

Samantha grew up in Shelby County and attended Waldron Elementary and Junior High School. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1989, and studied Computer Technology at IUPUI, where she received an associates degree from Indiana University and a bachelor's degree from Purdue University in 1994.

Samantha worked as a network administrator at Navistar from 1993 to 1998 and as an IT manager at Citizens Gas from 1998-2004. The remainder of her years were spent substitute teaching, and doing the job she loved most, which was being a loving stay-at-home wife and mother.

She was a member of Victory Christian Church in Franklin, where she loved to devote her time working in the children’s ministry as a Sunday school teacher, nursery coordinator, and helping prepare for VBS.

Samantha was passionate about her faith, and felt called to co-found the Christ Youth Bible Club in Franklin schools, where hundreds of children have been taught in an after-school program. It brought Samantha great joy spending her time leading this club.

Josh Cadwell will conduct a memorial service on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Victory Christian Church, 1720 North Graham Road in Franklin, Ind.

Friends may call Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, from 4 until 8:30 p.m. at Victory Christian Church in Franklin. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.swartzmortuary.com.
