Dale Wagoner

Dale F. Wagoner, 83, of Rushville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019, at The Heritage House of Greensburg, Ind., following an extended illness.

Dale was born Jan. 11, 1936, in Rush County, Indiana, to the late Bacel "Red" and Opal Marie (Stiers) Wagoner. He was also preceded in death by Frances Kay (Sailor) Wagoner, mother of the children, and one daughter, Susan Kay (Wagoner) Wood.

Dale was a retired owner-operator truck driver and U.S. Army Veteran. He graduated from Manilla High School in 1954 as valedictorian of his class. Dale enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, shooting, sports, drawing, carpentry, and learning about anything and everything, especially the "old" ways. One of his special joys was riding around Rush County, and surrounding counties, pointing out different homes and barns that he worked on or built either himself or with his father.

Survivors include a daughter, Julie and husband, David Baker, of Rushville; son, Jeff Wagoner and partner, Linda Sanders, of Shelbyville; two grandchildren, Natessa Wagoner and Brandon Wagoner; two great-grandchildren, Payton Harley and Aiden Wagoner; and two brothers and their wives, Gene and Donna Wagoner of Homer, Ind., and Earl Lynn and Linda Wagoner of Piqua, Ohio.

Gravesides services will be held, Monday, Sept. 9, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Goddard Cemetery, west of Rushville, Ind., with the Rev. Bill Worrell presiding.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Burns Funeral Home in Milroy, Ind.
