Tigers earn conference win over Ritter

The Triton Central volleyball team beat conference foe Cardinal Ritter on Monday, 3-0. The Tigers won 25-15, 26-24, 25-21. 

TC is now 9-3 overall and 4-0 in Indiana Crossroads Conference play, which is first in the conference. Scecina is 3-0. 

Maddy Brown led the Tigers with nine kills in the win over Ritter Monday. Maddy Beaver added seven kills and Amelia Shaw finished with five. 

Beaver also finished with seven blocks in the sweep. Brown, Shaw and Maggie Schweitzer paced the defense with 19 digs. Julia Sanders finished with 16 digs and Emilee Bramlett had 13. 

Schweitzer, the team's setter, worked the ball around well and finished with 25 assists. 

Beaver leads TC with 85 kills this season. Brown has 76 kills. 

Triton Central returns to action on Thursday at home against Morristown. 

Tennis

MT falls 1-4

The Morristown tennis team was defeated by Edinburgh on Monday, 1-4. 

At No. 1 doubles, Morristown's Noah Klinger and Jacob Wood beat Parker Newman and Preston Smith 6-3, 0-6, 10-7. At No. 2 doubles, Kolton Reed and Trevor Moon defeated Nick Owens and Shane Riley 7-5, 6-1.

In singles play at No. 1, Brandon McManaway beat Tyler Schonfeld 6-0, 7-5. At No. 2 singles, Max Blandford topped Grant Kessler 6-1, 6-2. At No. 3 singles, Travis Jones defeated Jerry Riley 6-3, 6-1. 

The Yellow Jackets return to the courts on Thursday at home against Hauser. 

TC improves to 5-3

The Triton Central tennis team improved to 5-3 with a 3-2 win over Cardinal Ritter on Monday. 

At No. 1 singles, Ritter's Mark Baker beat Caleb Anderson 6-1, 6-2. Jack Radecki beat TC's Alex Crouse 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, TC's Jack Baker handled Trae Rott 6-0, 6-1. 

The Tigers earned wins in both doubles matches. Ryan Shipley and Blake Anderson defeated Joey Wynne and Mike Richards 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Wyatt Robey and Quintin Potts beat Simeon Pantones and Nathan Martin 6-0, 6-0. 

TC plays again Saturday in the Shelby County Tournament at Southwestern. 

Boys Soccer

SW loses first game

The Southwestern soccer team lost its first game of the season on Monday. The team fell to Oldenburg 2-0 to move to 5-1. 

The Twisters scored in the fifth and 17th minutes of the contest. 

For SW, keeper Christian DeArmitt finished with five saves in goal. 

The Spartans play again Thursday at Hauser.
