Mack nominated for award after Week 1 performance

The NFL announced Monday that Indianapolis Colts’ Marlon Mack is a finalist for this week’s FedEx Ground Player of the Week award for his outstanding performance against the Los Angeles Chargers. Mack’s performance was crucial in the Colts’ close win, rushing for 174 yards on 25 attempts (7.0 avg.) and a touchdown. This is Mack’s first nomination of the season. A list of all nominees is below:

Air Nominees

· Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson completed 17 of 20 attempts (85.0 percent) for 324 yards, 5 touchdowns and 0 interceptions for a 158.3 passer rating – the highest-attainable mark – in the Ravens’ 59-10 win over the Miami Dolphins.

· Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott completed 25 of 32 passes (78.1 percent) for 405 yards and 4 touchdowns for a 158.3 passer rating – the highest-attainable mark – in the Cowboys’ 35-17 win over the New York Giants.

· Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 25 of 33 passes (75.8 percent) for 378 yards and 3 touchdowns for a 143.2 passer rating in the Chiefs’ 40-26 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Ground Nominees

· Indianapolis running back Marlon Mack rushed for 174 yards on 25 attempts (7.0 avg.) and a touchdown against the Los Angeles Chargers.

· Minnesota running back Dalvin Cook rushed for 111 yards on 21 attempts (5.3 avg.) and 2 touchdowns in the Vikings’ 28-12 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

· Baltimore running back Mark Ingram rushed for 107 yards on 14 attempts (7.6 avg.) and 2 touchdowns in the Ravens’ 59-10 win against the Miami Dolphins.
