Consumer fireworks can no longer be used until New Years Eve in Shelbyville.

The city has an ordinance that says the use of fireworks is only permitted from June 29 to July 9 between 5 p.m. to two hours after sunset, which is roughly 11:15 p.m. On July 4 they are permitted from 10 a.m to 12 a.m. They are also allowed on December 31 and January 1 between 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.
