The Forest Hill Cemetery Association will hold a Spring Clean Day May 8.

The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

“Bring your weed eater and your leaf blowers for a Spring Clean at the cemetery,” said member Carrie Ridgeway in a Facebook post. “We will be tiding up to help prepare the cemetery for the Memorial Day holiday.”

Ridgeway’s post also claims this would be a good event to accumulate volunteer hours. She said there will be officials on site to sign off on volunteer or community service hours.

“If you can’t run a weed eater or a leaf blower, that is ok,” Ridgeway said. “We could use your help picking up sticks or bring a broom to sweep the headstones. There is something for everyone to do.”

“What better way to give back to those that went before us by volunteering your time,” she concluded.
