Major Health Partners released the following update Wednesday afternoon.
A Pediatric COVID Vaccination Clinic will be held Saturday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Dec. 11, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. (for the second dose). MHP staff will administer the newly approved COVID vaccine for ages 5-11, which is one-third of the adult dose.
They will also administer the COVID vaccine for ages 12+. Please call MHP Pediatrics at (317) 398-7337 to schedule your vaccine appointment.
Indiana’s COVID positivity rate is at 9.1 percent and Shelby County’s positivity rate is 7.6 percent. Both represent an increase compared to the prior reporting period. Shelby County’s rise in COVID positivity rate places it in the “orange” category on the state’s coronavirus map.
Walk-in volumes at all locations experienced an increase this week compared to the last several weeks.
Priority Care is averaging 60-70 urgent care patients per day. Priority Care has experienced a rise in COVID positivity.
MHP Family and Internal Medicine is seeing 30-40 walk-in patients per day, also with an increase in COVID positivity.
MHP Pediatrics had 79 walk-in visits on Monday, which is well above average, MHP said.
The Emergency Department is seeing between 70-85 patients per day over the last four days. This represents an increase compared to last week. There has also been an increase in COVID infusion referrals.
Thirty-nine of our 40 inpatient beds are occupied on our third floor inpatient unit.
MHP experienced an additional COVID-related inpatient death since the last update. The patient was unvaccinated and under the age of 60.
They currently have nine critical care patients on the third floor and one of those patients is due to COVID. The COVID-related critical care patient is unvaccinated.
They have two patients on ventilators, plus seven additional patients on Vapotherm or BiPap. The two vented patients are not due to COVID.
Five inpatients are COVID positive and all of them are unvaccinated.
