The Shelby Art Guild Association (SAGA) will be hosting the first ArtAbility Art Show from 6-8 p.m. May 7 on the first floor of the city’s parking garage.

The show, which “highlight the extraordinary capabilities of Shelby County’s many young people with disabilities” according to a press release, was to have been held in April of 2020.

The student art contest was open to any Shelby County, Indiana high school student who was identified as a special needs student by his or her school. The exhibits being featured at the show were the entries submitted for the original date.

SAGA encourages people to vote for your favorite piece of art. There will be a People’s Choice Award given to the artist who receives the most votes.

Following the art show, the students work will be placed on display in the window of Bishopp’s Appliances. The public may go to Bishopp’s Appliances during regular business hours to vote for the People’s Choice Award from May 8 to 24. The winner of the People’s Choice will be announced on May 25.
