Coulston Elementary

All four school systems in Shelby County will remain closed until May 1, per the Governor’s state-mandated decree to fight the COVID-19 virus. On Wednesday, Shelbyville Central Schools, which includes Coulston Elementary School (shown here), voted to pay both salaried and non-salaried employees during the shut down.

Shelbyville Central Schools employees will continue to be paid while they’re stuck at home because of the coronavirus pandemic, which shut public schools down until May 1 with Gov. Eric Holcomb’s announcement Thursday afternoon.

Prior to that announcement, the SCS school board voted in favor of continuing to pay employees, both salaried and non-salaried, at the discretion of superintendent Mary Harper, during a special meeting Wednesday evening.
