Our hearts are breaking after the loss of Barbara H. (Brown) Harlamert, 56, of Boggstown, Indiana, after being struck by a brutally aggressive cancer. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Brown, and her baby brother, Phillip.
She is survived by her mother, Sue Brown, of West Newton; her sisters, Mari Wisniewski (Steve) and Becky Brown, West Newton; her brothers, Matt Brown (Cindy), Indianapolis, and Joe Brown (Pam), Flora; as well as beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She leaves behind her husband, Dave Harlamert; stepson, Benson Harlamert, Boggstown; stepdaughter, Ashley Tanks (Lee) and grandchildren, Ella and Harley Tanks, Woonona, Australia; daughter, Cassie Thompson (Clint) and granddaughter, Daphney Thompson, Belleville, Illinois.
She was a dedicated respiratory therapist, and found grace through service to others, but she found the most fulfillment in her job as Mimi to her grandchildren.
Her friends and family will best remember her humor, generosity, and creativity, as best seen in all the beautiful quilts that she loved to make.
She will be placed to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana, on Monday, Jan. 20 at 2 p.m., followed by a celebration of her life at Valle Vista Golf Club from 3 to 5 p.m. with friends and family — bring her quilts to display or stories to share.
Please consider a donation in her name to Little Sisters of the Poor of Indianapolis or the Shelby County United Fund For You.
