Charles J. “Charlie” Wilder, 61, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, at OUR Hospice Inpatient Facility.

Born May 2, 1958, in Rushville, he was the son of Charles W. Wilder and Rosemary (Whittaker) Wilder. He married Frances (Sorrell) Wilder on August 6, 1988, and she survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Nathan A. Wilder (wife, Amber) of Shelbyville, and David Wayt (wife, Cheryl) of Shelbyville; brother, Matthew Wilder of Shelbyville; sister, Clara Thomas of Shelbyville; and six grandchildren, Addyson, Alexis, Hunter, Seth, Kailyn, and Ethan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rita Marquette, Rebecca Griffith and Karen Clark; and brother, Jim Wilder.

Mr. Wilder had lived in this area his entire lifetime, and was a long-time carpenter with several different companies. He was also self-employed with his own business, Northern Wind Home Improvement, and also with Clevernest Home Solutions of Carmel for over 11 years.

He attended Shelbyville High School and was a member of First Church of God and Beacon Baptist Church.

Charlie enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and mushroom hunting. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan, and his family meant the world to him.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Brian Justice officiating. Friends may call on Saturday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Shelby County Cancer Association in care of the funeral home.
