Triton Central claimed the Shelby County Tournament championship Saturday at Timbergate Golf Course. TC’s Oliver Geralds, who carded an 80, was named medalist of the meet.
The Tigers finished with a final score of 393. Morristown was second with a 403 and Southwestern was third with a 450. Waldron does not have a golf team this season.
Geralds shot a 42 on the front nine and a 38 on the back nine, finishing eight strokes above par (72). He finished with a six on the scorecard just twice, on holes two and six, and was steady the rest of the way en route to the individual title. Geralds finished the day with 11 pars, including six in a row on the back nine.
Morristown’s Asher Caldwell (40-41) finished right behind Geralds with an 81 for second place. TC’s Evan Uhls (42-46) rounded out the top three with an 88. Southwestern was led by Caleb Pappano (54-51), who shot a 105.
Also for TC, Griffin Sego finished with a 103, Caleb Anderson a 122 and Maxwell Ray a 128.
Morristown’s Jordan Battles totaled a 104, while his teammates, Collin Essex and Sawyer Jones, both shot a 109. Kyle Crim finished with a 114.
For the Spartans, Justin Swift finished with a 110, Tristian Pappano a 117 and Ty Burcham a 118.
