The Joe Davis Stable was the first recipient of Barn Crew of the Month for the 2021 racing season at Indiana Grand.
The award is presented by the Indiana Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association (HBPA) and Texas Corral.
Selected by sources outside of the backstretch area, the Davis Stable excelled at keeping a clean and neat barn during the month of May. All of Davis’ help worked hard to ensure the horses are well-cared for and the workspace represents the stable works together to keep the barn in tip top shape.
“I just have a hard-working crew,” said Joe Davis of the award. “Most of them have been with me 10 or 15 years. They show up and get the work done every day. I appreciate how hard they work.”
The team at the Joe Davis Stable received a $200 gift certificate to Texas Corral. The entire team will enjoy a night out for steaks, seafood and drinks for being selected as Barn Crew of the Month.
In addition to the gift certificate, a banner will be hung on the outside of the Davis barn to signify the award winners for the month of May.
A total of six Barn Crew of the Month awards will be presented during the 2021 racing season, which extends into November.
