The Triton Central girls’ tennis team beat Roncalli 3-2 Tuesday at the Center Grove Regional. The Tigers are now 17-0.
At No. 1 singles on Tuesday, TC’s Brooklyn Schiffli beat Claire Wagner 6-4, 6-4 to remain undefeated this season. Julia Sanders also remains unbeaten as she topped Rebecca Zakrowski 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
Lili Wisler beat TC’s Lelia Chougule 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
The Tigers secured another win in doubles play. TC’s Ainsley Denton and Kelsey McGuire beat Lauren Prather and Cambri Lux 6-2, 7-5 at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Elsie Kerr and Katrina Gangstad beat TC’s Alyssa Wheatley and Emma Hutchinson 6-1, 7-6 (7).
TC advanced to play Center Grove Wednesday for the regional championship.
Waldron’s No. 1 doubles duo of Megan Bogemann and Mackenzie Shaw lost their match Tuesday during individual sectional play at Center Grove. Bogemann and Shaw lost to the Rayl sisters from Franklin Community, 6-2, 6-3.
Tigers drop sectional game
The Triton Central softball team fell to No. 7 Eastern Hancock 11-0 on Tuesday at the Knightstown Sectional.
EH, which hit six doubles, scored three runs in the first and second innings to take control.
Triton Central was limited to two hits in the loss. Savanna Trueblood and Sophia Robertson each had one hit for the Tigers.
Trueblood took the loss in the circe. She finished with seven strikeouts and three walks.
The Royals, who are 26-1 this season, advanced to face Indianapolis Scecina in the championship (Wednesday). Scecina beat Heritage Christian 4-2 on Tuesday.
Triton Central ended its season with a 9-13 record.
