Tigers hang on for 6-4 win

After scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning, Triton Central held on for a 6-4 win over Heritage Christian.

The Tigers led 5-0 entering the top of the sixth when they gave up four runs. But Triton Central added an insurance run in the bottom half of the inning and went onto win.

Abigail Eberhardt and Hailey Harris both had three hits and Kimberly Jinks had two. Eberhardt also drove in three runs.

Savannah Trueblood struck out five while giving up seven hits in a complete game appearance for the Tigers.

Shelbyville powers past Rushville in 14-1 win

Shelbyville hit three home runs and two doubles and finished with 12 hits in a 14-1 win over Rushville.

Katie Mathies hit two of the three home runs and Karissa Hamilton hit another one. Mathies also hit a double to finish with five runs batted in in the game and scored three runs.

Addisenn Weaver had two hits, including a double, and Kylee Edwards also had two hits, scoring three times.

Hailey Pogue struck out eight in a compete game while giving up four hits.

Mohawks remain undefeated with win over Trinity Lutheran

Waldron won two of three singles matches and both doubles to beat Trinity Lutheran, 4-1.

The No. 1 doubles team of Megan Bogemann and Makenzie Shaw won 6-0, 6-1 and the No. 2 team of Josee Larrison and Kiera Ziegler won 7-6, 6-2.

Caroline Sheaffer won at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-4 and Nichole Garner won at No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-0. Amanda Brinson lost at No. 2 singles 2-6, 1-6.

Tigers pick up win over Yellow Jackets

Triton Central topped Morristown, 5-0, to stay unbeaten with three wins.

Brooklyn Schiffli beat Emma Theobald, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles while Julie Sanders defeated Beth Hodgin 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Leila Chougule defeated Aubrea Trattner 6-2, 6-1 at No 3 singles.

Ainsley Denton and Kelsey McGuire defeated McKinley Kile and Brianna Batton, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. And Emma Hutchinson and Alyssa Wheatley beat Karli Manship and Ryeland Brewer at No. 2 doubles, 6-1, 6-2.

SHS drops conference contest to Marauders

Shelbyville lost, 5-0, to Mt. Vernon (Fortville).

Jaidyn Tackett competed in a hard fought No. 2 singles match but lost 6-7 (3-7), 3-6.


Spartans roll past Mohawks in 13-3 win

Southwestern took control in the bottom of the second against Waldron, scoring eight runs to take a 9-0 lead on the way to a 13-3 win.

Waldron scored a run in the top of the third before the Spartans added three more in the bottom half of the inning and one more in the fourth for a 13-1 lead. The Mohawks pulled to within 10 runs with a pair in the fifth but were unable to add another that would have continued the game.

Golden Bears held to 1 hit in loss

Shelbyville fell behind early and went onto lose to Columbus North, 11-1.

The Bull Dogs scored three runs in the first inning and four in both the second and third innings to take an 11-0 lead, before Benny Thompson scored in the top of the fourth for the Golden Bears.

The senior had the lone hit for Shelbyville.

Shelbyville reached base two other times, once by Layton Stieneker, the other by Thompson.

Defensively, the Golden Bears committed six errors.

Luke Jackson pitched all four innings for Shelbyville, striking out two while giving up nine hits and walking three.

Yellow Jackets pick up wins over Lancers,


Morristown topped both Southwestern and Edinburgh, led by Asher Caldwell and Jordan Battles, both of whom carded 46s.

Morristown won the match, which was played at Timbergate Golf Course, carding 193 as a team. Edinburgh came in second, shooting 206, and Southwestern shot 215.

Golden Bears fall to No. 13 Grizzly Cubs

Shelbyville lost to 13th-ranked Franklin, 155-198.

Ethan Apsley led the Golden Bears, carding a 48. Franklin’s Damon Dickey earned low medalist honors with a 35.
