Golden Bears lose lead late in 9-8 loss

Shelbyville was on its way to a win when Knightstown rallied late on the way to delivering a 9-8 loss to the Golden Bears.

Shelbyville led 6-3 entering the sixth inning when the Panthers scored six runs. Shelbyville managed to score a run in both the bottom half of the inning and in the seventh but was unable to tie the game.

The Golden Bears finished with six hits – one apiece by Brock Pitman, Layton Stieneker, Brayden Basey, Kaleb Schaf, Charlie Rife and Luke Jackson.

Knightstown finished with 10 hits, led by Gunnar Hannis, Brayden McDaniel and Brock Loveall, all of whom had two apiece.

Basey and Caden Tackett combined for eight strikeouts.

TC drops match to New Palestine

Triton Central lost to New Palestine at Hawks Tail Golf Course, 181-211.

Oliver Gearlds won low-medalist honors, carding a 37.

SHS falls short against Greensburg

Shelbyville came up short in a loss to Greensburg.

Ethan Apsley led the Golden Bears, carding a 46, while Matthew Bunton shot 47. Eli Baker and Garet Skaggs both carded 49s.

Greensburg’s Ben Bausback earned low-medalist honors with a 37.

Yellow Jackets top Indians, fall to Cougars

Morristown defeated Anderson but lost to Greenfield-Central at Hawk’s Tail Golf Course.

The Yellow Jackets shot 207 as a team, ahead of Anderson’s 228. Greenfield-Central won with a team score of 188.

Asher Caldwell won medalist honors, shooting 44. Sawyer Jones shot 53 while Collin Essex, Jordan Battles and Kyle Crim all carded 55s. Nick Stidham and Ely Wiggins both shot 58.

Carson Essex (61) and Quinton Batton (64) also both competed for Morristown.
