Shelbyville senior catcher Karissa Hamilton, who will continue her softball career at the University of Kentucky, held her signing ceremony Thursday at SHS. Hamilton was joined by a large crowd of family, friends and former and current coaches.

The senior smacked 22 home runs last season, which was second in the state. She finished her junior season hitting .604 with 55 RBIs, 11 doubles and two triples. The Golden Bears collected 24 wins (24-5), which set a new school record.

Hamilton is also a standout swimmer. She holds several school records in the sport and is a two-time state qualifier.
